In today’s fast-paced digital world, implementing low-code or no-code (LCNC) platforms provide significant business value by enhancing the ability to develop and deploy municipal services quickly.¹  The municipal and federal environments are dynamic, requiring nimble systems that can quickly meet changing citizen needs and administrative environments. LCNC platforms give agencies the ideal opportunity to meet these needs with limited budgets and IT staffing constraints.

Resistance to technology adoption usually falls within the six pillars outlined below.

Utilizing a Strategic Approach

To overcome these challenges and unlock the full potential of LCNC solutions, agencies need a strategic approach that re-envisions innovation based on lessons-learned from previous technology adoptions. A strategic LCNC approach can easily adopt new technologies such as blockchain or artificial intelligence (AI) when the business case presents a need.⁶ In situations where cost, change management, lack of trainings, or the other resistance factors mentioned above are present, LCNC could bridge the technology barrier and help agencies transition between current operating models and the future state realities. Adopting LCNC will streamline workflows, boost efficiency, cut costs, and seamlessly integrate future technologies, unlocking agencies full potential.⁷
